Audience Sheet - Evaluation Essay: Macbeth

Type out a minimum of three-to-four-sentence responses to each question. Be sure to explain how your thoughts will affected decisions you made as you wrote your evaluation essay.  Sentences should be specific and grammatically correct.  The audience sheet is worth 10pts.

The purpose of this audience sheet is to help you imagine an audience who would read your narrative.  Since you are not publishing your narrative, you'll need to imagine who your readers are and make assumptions about them.
You might, for example, imagine your classmates as representing your readers.  But also consider members/families of the Stevens Point community and other nearby cities.

  2. Why will your readers read your evaluation?  Explain what you believe they want to get from it?
  3. How much knowledge of the play/drama as a literary genre will you assume your readers have? About Shakespeare?
  4. What values and beliefs will your readers have that you will need to consider?
  5. What tone will you use? What Point of View?  What style? (Formal? Colloquial? Humorous? Serious? Some Combination?) Vocabulary? Consider the publication (above)
